7 wonders of exercising: surprising benefits for your body

Many people spend more than half their waking hours sitting down. And activities that don’t enhance health account for quite a lot of the hours before they eventually begin their day. This growing trend may cause more trouble than most people realize. Observational studies suggest habitual inactivity raises risks for obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, deep-vein thrombosis, and metabolic syndrome.

A few moments each morning might just be what you need to get your health and body in form. Effective exercising can be from moderate to high intensity depending on the one you choose to work with.

Every day, we receive energy from foods in a variety of forms — proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. The body extracts this energy and other nutrients from the food. When energy demand increases — such as when you are exercising — your body is expected to release more. It quickly makes more of the energy from the stored form, glycogen which is present in the muscles and liver. The body also uses fats as an energy source when glycogen is not available.

Heart and blood vessels

During exercises, there is an increased need for oxygen in the body, so the heart pumps faster to also be able to meet up with demand-the heart carries oxygenated blood to the body parts and returns deoxygenated blood from them to the lungs. The more physical activity you do, the higher the demand for oxygen across the body, the faster the speed of the heart, the better the health.

During physical exercises, the arteries dilate and allow for increased blood flow. This helps to flush the pathway and improve the absorption of healthy food nutrients over time.

Benefits of exercising

The truth about exercises is that it benefits absolutely every aspect of human life. You can have any form of exercise based on your goal or need.

I will be outlining a number of benefits of exercising to the human body.

You get to experience a set of goodness during and after your sessions.

1. Exercising reduces your risk of having heart diseases and improves heart and lung functions.

Heart disease is the number one killer in the world today due to mainly dietary reasons and lack of physical activities. Having to exercise will help you reduce the build-up of plaques in the arteries, help you balance out the blood lipids, and help to keep the blood vessels continually free-flowing.

Exercises are the only way to service your heart and get it pumped for its duty of pumping. They help to improve the heart and lung functions, delivering more blood to the muscles and other body parts.

2. Exercises will help you to lower high blood pressure.

Anyone with high blood pressure is at risk of developing various health conditions like heart failure, stroke, organ damage and even death. Moderate exercises will help you clear off the increased pressure and restore normalcy over a period of time.

3. Exercising will increase your immunity against infections.

Studies show that the rates of infection of people who exercise are way less than those who do not engage in any form of physical exercises. Sedentary living is not good for your health, because part of what it poses as a risk to you is the heavy attack of infections.

Exercising will increase the number of immunoglobulins present in your blood which serves as your defence system. These immunoglobulins are what will help you wade of aliens and pathogens when they eventually make their way into the body. Viral or bacterial infection will be combatted.

4. You will be able to manage your weight, diabetes and even reverse it.

Coupled with a whole plant-based eating habit, you will be able to manage your blood sugar levels and even be totally free from diabetes over time of consistent conscious living practices. Studies have been able to successfully reveal how your body uses up energy during exercises, and how they help to create a balanced energy level for a healthy body.

At the same time, you will stand a chance of wading off excess body weights (obesity) which is a major cause of diabetes.

5. Exercising reduces your risk of developing cancers

Studies have shown the risk aversion of cancers for a group of physically active people who engage in exercises at least 20 minutes daily or 30 minutes in alternate days. Breast cancer, cervical, colon cancer, and prostate cancers have been linked to a high level of physical inactivity, as well as unhealthy food choices, and exposure to pollutants which causes an increased production of free radicals in the body.

6. Exercises help to improve your mood and energy levels.

Hormones that help you stay happy and positive are released during the process of staying physically active. A particular study confirmed that exercising regularly helps to ease mild to moderate depression as effectively as taking medications. Then combining exercises and your social integration and medication will even be more helpful.

7. Exercises increases life expectancy, strength and agility.

About 5 years of life in an average is expected to be added when you exercise regularly. Exercises will bring strength to the body and bones, agility by increased coordination and well synchronized nervous system. Also, the many joint and body pains caused by inflammations will definitely give way, and you will feel super healthy.

There are quite a number of exercises you can do regardless of your age. High and medium intensity exercises such as stretching, cycling, yoga, jogging around the neighbourhood, brisk walking, tai chi, swimming, muscle training, aerobics and so on.
